Public Assistance Needed - Unidentified Jane Doe from Unsolved 1989 Homicide 

October 24, 2024 – Madera County Sheriff's Office officials report that on September 24, 1989, the remains of an unidentified female were located in a rural area of Madera County. At the time of the discovery, the woman could not be positively identified. The case remained open and was periodically reviewed over the years by detectives.

We are reaching out to the public with this rendering of our Jane Doe in the hope that a friend or family member of the victim may recognize and help us to identify her. At the time of her death, she was 5’3”, 130 lbs., and had black hair. She is estimated to have been approximately 16-28 years old. It is possible she may have relatives in Mexico.
