Gang Suppression Arrest
October 30, 2024 – Kern County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on October 24, 2024, the Sheriff’s Gang Suppression Unit completed a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle in the area of Olive Drive and Knudsen Drive. During the investigation, deputies located 160 grams of black tar heroin, 16 grams of methamphetamine and two loaded firearms inside the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle, Mathew Christy (33), was arrested and booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Lerdo Justice Facility for the following charges: possession of a controlled substance for sales and transportation, felon in possession of a firearm/ ammunition, possession of a controlled substance while armed, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a gang member and participation in a criminal street gang.
