November 2, 2024 – CAL FIRE officials announce November is Carbon Monoxide Awareness Month. Each year, over 100,000 ER visits and 1,200 deaths occur in the U.S. due to this silent threat.
This month take the time to make sure your house has a carbon monoxide detector and that it works! Replace your carbon monoxide detectors every 5-7 years, or when the alarm indicates it's at the end of its life to maintain home safety. Practice a family evacuation plan so everyone knows what to do if the alarm sounds.
With collective action, we can make our world safer and healthier for all.
