Soroptimist Holds Annual Christmas Home Tour 

November 12, 2024 – Soroptimist International of Mariposa is busily planning a one-day-only Christmas home tour for Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. This tour combines a mixture of traditional, contemporary, and very unique homes. A soup lunch is included in the price of the ticket. The tour is about the holiday spirit, and the willingness of people to open up their homes for a good cause. Proceeds will benefit Soroptimist International of Mariposa community scholarships.

Tickets are $20.00 and are available at Happy Burger Diner, Trent’s Styling for His and Hers, and from any Mariposa Soroptimist member. Tickets will also be sold at the Soroptimist Craft Show held at the Mariposa Fairgrounds Friday, December 6 and Saturday, December 7. There are 6 stops on this year’s home tour, including homes in Catheys Valley, off Triangle Road, and in the town of Mariposa.

Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. In addition to participating in international projects, the Mariposa Club achieves this mission locally by giving scholarships to graduating seniors and presenting monetary awards to women that are the heads of their households seeking further education. The Mariposa Club also sponsors The Elegant Dress Closet, which lends prom dresses to high school girls and donates funds to local organizations such as Manna House, a non-profit organization that provides emergency food to all in need.
