November 13, 2024 - WASHINGTON — Speaker Johnson released the following statement congratulating Congressman Mike Waltz on his selection to serve as National Security Advisor to President Trump.

“Through his military service and his work on the House Intelligence, Armed Services and Oversight Committees, and the House China Task Force, Congressman Waltz has shown he understands our adversaries are engaged in hostile economic and military efforts designed to harm the American people. He is the perfect person to advise President Trump and defend our interests on the world stage. I look forward to continuing to engage with him as Congress works to implement America First national security policies under the new Trump Administration.”
