November 15, 2024 - Fresno County Sheriff's Office officials report on Thursday, November 14th, detectives with the Central California Internet Crimes Against fcso1115.1Children (ICAC) Task Force arrested 32 year old Philip Rodriguez of Palmdale, CA. He was booked into the Vista Detention Facility in San Diego County and was later released after posting bond. He faces felony charges of contacting minors for the purpose of sex, possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and sending harmful matter to minors. Rodriguez is scheduled to appear in a Fresno County courtroom on November 25th.

After receiving a criminal report in February 2024, ICAC detectives began an investigation into U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sergeant Philip Rodriguez. Detectives learned Rodriguez had been assigned to work in Fresno as a recruiter for the Marine Corps. Part of his duties included interacting with minors who were interested in joining the U.S. Military. Rodriguez took the opportunity to send inappropriate digital images to a potential female recruit. As the investigation progressed, detectives discovered Rodriguez conducted the same type of illegal behavior with two other female minors.

Detectives secured an arrest warrant for Rodriguez, who was now stationed at Camp Pendleton in San Diego County. Detectives worked with members of the ICAC Task Force and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), located in San Diego, to coordinate taking Rodriguez into custody.

If you have any information to share about Philip Rodriguez, please contact Detective Rosario at (559) 760-6282, www.valleycrimestoppers.org You will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.

*ICAC is comprised of 66 federal, state and local law enforcement agencies spread throughout nine counties in the Central Valley. It is dedicated to protecting children online and investigating crimes committed against children, which are facilitated by the Internet and computer usage.
