...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM PST THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of central California, including the following
  counties, Fresno, Madera, Mariposa, Merced and Tulare.

* WHEN...Until 1000 AM PST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Ponding of water
  in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 154 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
    flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor
    flooding in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 0.8 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.2 to 0.5 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Porterville, Chowchilla, Oakhurst, Yosemite Lakes, Bonadelle
    Ranchos-Madera Ranchos, Bootjack, Madera Acres, Three Rivers,
    Mariposa, Planada, Coarsegold, Millerton Lake, Friant,
    Hurley, North Fork, Auberry, Crane Valley Reservoir, Bass
    Lake Ranger District, Bass Lake and Ahwahnee.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
