Gang Suppression Arrest 

December 19, 2024 – Kern County Sheriff's Office officials report that on December 18, 2024, deputies from the Kern County Sheriff's Office Gang Suppression Unit conducted an investigation into a negligent discharge of a firearm. During the investigation, deputies responded to the 2500 block of Nora Way, City of Arvin, to serve a search warrant for firearms.

During the service of the search warrant, deputies located an AK-47 style rifle, a GSG .22 caliber style assault rifle, a 10mm Glock handgun, a 9mm Sig Sauer M18 handgun, numerous rounds of ammunition and high-capacity magazines.

Jose Cruz (23) and a juvenile were arrested, transported and booked for the following charges: participation in a criminal street gang, gang member in possession of firearms and possession of high-capacity magazines.
