Detectives on Scene Investigating Shooting in Groveland 

December 29, 2024 – Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office officials report that Investigations Division Detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred in the area of Black Road and Highway 120 in Groveland. On Saturday morning, at about 6:25 a.m., deputies responded code 3, with lights and sirens to a report a man with a gun had been beating on the reporting party’s camper. The reporting party told dispatchers he had shot the man, and the man ran away on foot. 

As deputies were enroute to the call, the man with the gunshot wound was located at a nearby fire station. The man was transported by medics to AHS where he was flown to an area hospital for treatment. Deputies arrived at the scene of the incident where they contacted the reporting party and began to investigate. Detectives are actively following up on all available investigative leads. 

Updated information: TCSO Detectives have been cleared from the area of Black Road near Highway 120 in the Groveland area following an investigation into a shooting that happened earlier on Saturday morning.
