January 3, 2025 – Fresno Police Department officials report that on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 4:15 p.m., the Fresno Police Department received several calls regarding traffic complaints at the intersection of Cedar Avenue and Belmont Avenue. Citizens reported numerous vehicles blocking traffic while five to seven vehicles were driving recklessly by doing donuts and drifting within the intersection.
Officers assigned to the Traffic Unit's Street Racing Team were able to identify several involved vehicles through follow-up investigations. Vehicle seizure warrants were authored on each vehicle and approved through the courts. One of the involved vehicles was registered out of Salinas, CA. The Salinas Police Department assisted by locating the vehicle and served the seizure.
All vehicles located at this point in the investigation have been impounded for 30 days. Additional follow-up will continue. If you are engaging in illegal street racing and/or sideshow activity, INCLUDING Aiding and Abetting, we will impound your vehicle for 30 days. Fresno is not the place to commit these hazardous crimes. lf you are a witness to illegal sideshows, please make sure you are safely away from the crowd and call 9-1-1.
