March 22, 2016 - The Madera County Sheriff Department reports at about 5:00 A.M. this morning the Sheriff's Office received a call of a male with a gunshot wound who had been transported to the Cal-Fire station on Road 200 in North Fork. The 35 year old man was transported to a hospital in Fresno with a non life threatening wound to his leg.
Deputies and Detectives received varying accounts of what had occurred from the shooting victim and his companion. Detectives later responded to a residence off of Road 221 in North Fork to conduct interviews and search for potential evidence related to the shooting.
At this point it is unclear if the gunshot wound was self-inflicted or was the result of some type of altercation.
