Public Notice - Fake Letter with MCSO Logo 

January 8, 2025 – Madera County Sheriff’s Office officials report that the has been made aware that residents in the Ranchos community have received letters bearing the MCSO logo regarding fines associated with shooting guns on New Year’s Eve (please see copy below). THIS IS NOT AN AUTHENTIC LETTER.

Neither Sheriff Pogue or the Sheriff’s Office have issued any type of warning letters to residents, nor authorized any agents to act on our behalf in this matter. 

The investigation into the identity of the individual distributing these letters remains ongoing.
