January 9, 2025 – El Dorado County Sheriff's Office officials report that on January 2nd, around 8:05 p.m. the crew of Echo 1 responded to a call for assistance from a hiker in the back country east of Sly Park. It was fully dark, and the hiker had become disoriented and unable to locate her vehicle. The nighttime temperatures were predicted to be quite cold. 

The crew of Echo 1 responded without hesitation and was able to locate the hiker and identified a remote landing area nearby. With no external illumination, the crew was able to safely land and transport the hiker to safety.
