January 11, 2025 – El Dorado County Sheriff's Office officials report that this past weekend, we witnessed an incredible display of teamwork as community members came together to tackle a massive cleanup effort. A total of 5,640 lbs. of abandoned garbage was removed from an old encampment site, making the area safer and cleaner for everyone
A huge thank you to:
Mountain F Enterprises for providing a boom truck and crew to transport the debris to El Dorado Disposal.
El Dorado Disposal for generously donating the dump fees for this vital cleanup.
Tribal Fire • Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians fire crew for donating their time and efforts to clear a large amount of vegetation, making the area less inviting for future encampments.
Numerous community volunteers who helped bag all of the loose garbage.
This is a perfect example of what happens when we come together as a community to make a positive impact. Thank you to everyone who contributed!
