January 22, 2025 – Fresno County Sheriff's Office officials report that Homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office have arrested 42-year-old Robert Saldana of Fresno and 55-year-old Gary Guerra of Fresno.

Saldana has been in the Fresno County Jail since August of 2024 following an arrest for robbery.  Detectives have since added a murder charge to his booking record.  He is not eligible for bail.

Guerra was arrested on January 18, 2025.  He faces a murder charge and has a bail set at $1 million.

At 4:40 a.m. on April 30th, 2024, someone passing along S. Frank Ave. (between E. Muscat and E. Grand Avenues) noticed a man lying on the ground of an alleyway.  They made a report to Fresno County Sheriff’s dispatchers and deputies responded to Malaga to check on the person.  Deputies discovered 43-year-old Jonathan Franco of Fresno had suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body and was deceased.
