Burglary at Bishop Landfill 

January 25, 2025 – Inyo County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Thursday, January 16, 2025, the Inyo County Sheriff Office logoInyo County Sheriff's Office responded to the Bishop Landfill for a reported burglary. Deputies were notified that equipment and tools had been stolen from the maintenance shop, estimated to be over $10,000. 

On Thursday, January 23, 2025, based on information unveiled during the investigation. Inyo County Sheriff's Deputies and Investigators contacted Paul Beauden, a 47-year-old Bishop resident. Beauden had set up an illegal camp on the Department of Water and Power Land and was found to possess several items of property that had been reported to have been stolen from the landfill. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Beauden was the one who burglarized the maintenance shop. Beauden was arrested on Felony charges and booked at the Inyo County Jail.
