While deputies were responding to check on the call an additional 911 call came into the Emergency Dispatch Center. This time the caller stated she and her two children had fled the scene and were now at a neighbor’s house. She stated her ex-husband had broken into the home, broken windows and held a knife to her throat threatening to kill her if she contacted anyone, all while her children were present in the same room.
Arriving deputies located Joshua Alexander, 24, of Mariposa, outside of the neighbor’s house yelling and holding a knife. Mr. Alexander began making statements to the deputies that he wanted to die and that they would have to shoot him to get him to stop. After multiple commands to drop the knife, he complied and was taken into custody. While transporting Joshua Alexander to the patrol car he made several verbal threats towards deputies, stating he was associated with a Mexican Cartel and would murder them.
