February 5, 2025 – Fresno County Sheriff’s Office officials announce the passing of retired Deputy Sergeant Scott Moore.

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of retired Deputy Sergeant Scott Moore.  He suffered an unexpected medical emergency on Monday night in Clovis.  He was 60 years old.

Scott joined the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office in August of 1999 after having previously worked for the Selma Police Department. While at the Sheriff’s Office, he worked on a variety of different assignments including patrol, MAGEC, vice/intel and internal affairs.  

Scott retired from the Sheriff’s Office in June of 2018.  Since then, he had been working as an instructor at the local police academy.  He was a dedicated, hardworking, loyal man who will be greatly missed.
