February 12, 2025 – Modesto Police Department officials report that on Wednesday, January 29th, and Thursday, January 30th, members of the Modesto Police Department conducted a two-day operation focusing on smoke shops within the City of Modesto.

A total of 23 businesses were inspected. Several citations were issued, and over 1,500 pounds of flavored tobacco and cannabis products were seized. In addition, more than 1,000 methamphetamine pipes displayed for sale were recovered.

This operation demonstrates MPD’s continued dedication to combatting businesses that market to area youth and contribute to community blight. So far, Modesto PD has conducted six separate operations.
