February 15, 2025 – Mariposa County Library officials invite the community to a Maternity Care Deserts presentation and FREE Q&A with Assemblymember Mia Bonta.

Join us for an important event. The library will be hosting a live broadcast on Wednesday, February 26 from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. about Maternity Care Deserts. It will be broadcast at the Mariposa Library on a large screen TV. 

Join in for a FREE Q&A with Assemblymember Mia Bonta. CalMatters Health Reporter Kristen Hwang will lead a discussion about why maternity wards and birthing centers are disappearing and what the state is doing about it. These maternity deserts are spreading in California, often disproportionately affecting Black, Latino, and low-income communities.
