March 5, 2025 – Fresno County Sheriff’s Office officials report that members of the Fresno County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit caution crime scene tapehave identified 36-year-old Samantha Dellia of Caruthers as the woman who died in a recent fire.  The 44-year-old man who was injured, remains hospitalized and is listed in critical condition.

Around 5:00 a.m. on Monday, March 3rd, deputies and firefighters responded to a shed that was on fire, located on the backside of a piece of property along the 13000 block of S. Quince Ave. in Caruthers.  Two people, a man and a woman were inside the shed at the time of the fire.  The man sustained burns and the woman was ultimately pronounced deceased.

Later Monday morning, the Sheriff’s Office developed new information surrounding the cause of the fire, leading us to consider the injuries and death to be questionable.  Sheriff’s detectives are now working with firefighters in this ongoing investigation.
