April 12, 2016 - The Mariposa County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting three Candidate Forums in advance of the June 7, 2016 election for the two disputed county Board of Supervisor seats, representing District 2 and District 5.

District 5 candidates, incumbent Supervisor John Carrier and Miles Menetrey, will meet in two forums.  The first is to be held at Grace Community Church on April 18, 2016 at 6:30 PM, with the second at Tenaya Lodge in Fish Camp on April 27th  at 6:30 PM.

In District 2 the Candidate Forum will feature three candidates: Debbie Cook, incumbent Supervisor Merlin Jones, and Thane Suderman.  The forum will be held at the Coulterville Old Schoolhouse at the corner of Broadway and Cemetery Road on May 4th at 6:30 PM, and is co-sponsored by the Coulterville Community Club.

Candidates will be offered an opportunity to make opening remarks, and then will be asked a series of questions.  Each candidate will be asked the same questions.  At the end, each will offer closing remarks. Each Candidate Forum will last about an hour.

The forums will also be recorded for rebroadcast on KRYZ Public Radio and social media.

Please send questions for the candidates to kyle@mariposachamber.org, or bring them to the event.  If submitting via email, please indicate which district the questions are for.

Coffee and refreshments will be provided at each event.

No Candidate Forum is scheduled for District 4, where Supervisor Kevin Cann is running unopposed for reelection.
