March 13, 2025 – Fresno County Sheriff's Office officials report that homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office have arrested 27-year-old Jonathan Morales Ramos of Soledad, CA and 26-year-old Erik Madrigal Garcia of Orosi. Garcia has been booked into the Fresno County Jail on a felony charge of murder. Ramos, who is incarcerated at Salinas Valley Prison for another crime, will be transported to the Fresno County Jail and face a murder charge once his time in Salinas is served.

Around 7:30 p.m. on January 23, 2016, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office dispatch center received a call of a suspicious vehicle near the intersection of E. Dinuba and Crawford Avenues, east of Reedley. A motorist reported the four-door, dark colored Chevrolet Malibu as being suspicious due to the fact it was parked at an awkward angle on the side of the road with the headlights and engine still running. Sheriff’s deputies arrived and found two deceased men inside the car who had been shot. They were later identified as Alfonso Barbosa, 31, of Reedley and Fray Martin Rodriguez, 29, of Reedley.

FCSO murder suspects
Detectives determined this was not a random act, but rather that the victims were targeted due to involvement in gang activity. Throughout the course of the investigation, detectives identified Jonathan Morales Ramos and Erik Madrigal Garcia as being responsible for the murders.

Although an arrest has been made, anyone with additional information about this case is asked to contact Detective Galindo at (559) 600-8215, Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-7867 or www.valleycrimestoppers.org. You will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward. Reference case #16-1233.
