March 14, 2025 – Fresno Police Department officials announce that central officers responded to Olive Avenue and Blackstone Avenue regarding a reckless driver who had brandished a firearm.  When officers arrived, they observed a vehicle in the parking lot as the driver of the vehicle was attempting to park the vehicle. Officers contacted two occupants in the vehicle, noticed a handgun was between the seats of the vehicle, and detained the two. 

The driver had been drinking and officers conducted a DUI investigation. He also had a suspended driver’s license and a prior felony conviction. The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, driving with a suspended driver’s license, being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm. During a search incident to arrest, the driver [sic] was found to be in possession of a loaded magazine with 12 rounds of ammunition. He was also charged with being a prohibited person in possession of ammunition and possession of a large capacity magazine.
