March 19, 2025 – Placer County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Saturday, March 8th, 2025, Placer County Sheriff’s Office deputies were asked by a local coffee shop to trespass 27-year-old William Edminister from the property. Deputies escorted him out, but he immediately returned. As deputies re-engaged, Edminister resisted and stated he had a firearm. Deputies quickly detained him and located a loaded ghost gun tucked into his waistband.
Edminister was booked into the Placer County Jail on seven charges, including three weapons-related felony charges: 25850(A), 11550(E), and 25800(A).
This situation could have taken a bad turn quickly. We applaud the deputies on scene for their swift action in detaining Edminister and removing his loaded firearm.
