April 4, 2025 – Kern County Sheriff's Office officials report that on April 3, 2025, deputies from the Kern County Sheriff's Office Taft Substation along with the assistance of Taft Police Department and the Kern County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force (KC-HIDTA) served a search warrant in the 400 block of Tyler Street in Taft. 

LUIS BUENROSTRO (38) was arrested for felon in possession of ammunition, possession of a controlled substance with priors, possession of narcotics for sales, maintaining a residence for sales, conspiracy, possession of brass knuckles, and possession of identity cards. 

MELISSA RODRIGUEZ (38) was arrested for possession of narcotics for sales, maintaining a residence for sales, conspiracy, possession of brass knuckles, and possession of identity cards. 

TIMOTHY CAPLES (25) was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of brass knuckles and AUSTIN CASTEEL (25) was arrested for an outstanding felony warrant and three outstanding misdemeanor warrants.
