April 4, 2025 – Fresno Police Department officials report that the southwest DST officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Clinton Avenue and Brawley Avenue for multiple vehicle code violations. As the vehicle came to a stop, the front passenger exited the vehicle and ran eastbound on foot, ignoring officers’ commands. As the passenger fled, he discarded a loaded firearm. Officers quickly caught up to the male and he was safely detained. 

During the investigation, the firearm was found to be reported stolen and the passenger found to be a convicted felon. The driver of the vehicle was issued citations for the traffic violations. The passenger was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail on firearm related charges.
