Officer-Involved Shooting Investigation 

April 11, 2025 – Fresno Police Department officials report that on Thursday morning, at approximately 10:23 a.m., a Fresno FAX bus driver observed a female armed with a large, fixed blade knife near the FAX terminal at Manchester Center, 1901 East Shields Avenue. The driver also noted that the female made suicidal statements. The FAX bus driver contacted Fresno Police officers assigned to the FAX unit, and the officers responded Code 3, with lights and siren.

Officers contacted the armed female and ordered her to drop the knife. Instead of dropping the knife, the female approached another female from behind and put the knife to the back of the female victim’s neck, taking the victim hostage. The primary officer gave multiple commands for the armed female to drop the knife, but the female refused to drop it. The officer discharged his department issued firearm once, striking the armed female once in the head area. The armed female and the hostage both fell to the ground. Officers disarmed the suspect, handcuffed her, and provided medical aid to her. The suspect was transported to CRMC to treat her injuries, and she is currently in grave condition. The hostage victim did not sustain any injuries.
