April 11, 2025 – Mariposa County Health & Human Services officials announce the Mariposa County Environmental Health Team has scheduled the following Mosquito Fish Distribution events.

Coulterville Park 
Friday, April 25th, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Mariposa Fairgrounds
Saturday, April 26th, from 8:00 a.m. - Until Gone (First Come, First Served)

In conjunction with the Masters Gardener's Plant Sale

5007 Fairgrounds Rd, Mariposa, 95338

This year there is a suggested donation of $5.00, individuals should bring a container for their fish.

Mosquitofish are small fish in the guppy family that are natural predators of mosquito larvae and pupae, making them an environmentally friendly alternative to mosquito control without the use of chemical insecticides.  Controlling mosquito larvae is important because it limits the number of adult mosquitoes in the area.
