City of Fresno Issues a Traffic Alert 

April 20, 2025 – Fresno Police Department officials announce the city of Fresno has issued a traffic alert after a sewer collapse opens a sinkhole on Olive Avenue. 

Olive Avenue is currently closed in both directions east of First Street due to a sewer collapse. Westbound traffic is being diverted at Fisher Street. 

Crews are on-site tonight working to stabilize the area. We expect to open one lane in each direction within 6 to 8 hours. Please avoid the area if possible and follow posted detours.
