April 22, 2025 – Mariposa County officials announce upcoming Mariposa Wildfire Preparedness Fair on Saturday, May 10, 2025.
You're invited to the Mariposa Wildfire Preparedness Fair on Saturday, May 10, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. on the Mariposa County Courthouse lawn located at 5088 Bullion Street.
This free, family-friendly event brings together multiple local, state, and federal agencies to share actionable strategies that can help protect homes and communities before fire strikes.
BONUS! Complimentary hot dogs, veggie dogs, chips, and bottled water will be served throughout the afternoon, weather permitting and while supplies last.
Attendees can:
- Find out about FREE and grant-supported programs that help you prepare your property to reduce wildfire risk
- Talk with experts about fuels reduction methods such as brush clearing and shaded fuel breaks
- Explore home hardening techniques like ember-resistant vents and fire-rated roofing
- Get tips on evacuation planning, including go-bag essentials and safe route mapping
This event is hosted by Mariposa County and the University of California Cooperative Extension, with participation from a wide range of partners including the American Red Cross, USDA Forest Service, National Park Service, Central California Animal Disaster Team, Mariposa Safe Families, the Mariposa Fire Safe Council, the Mariposa Resource Conservation District, CAL FIRE MMU, the Mariposa Fire Department and Firewise Communities, and Happy Goat.
In case of rain, the fair will be relocated to the Mariposa County Board of Supervisors’ Boardroom.
