Recently Retired Deputy Passed Away 

May 7, 2025 – Tulare County Sheriff's Office officials sadly announce the recent passing of retired Deputy Roberto Villarreal.

With great regret, Sheriff Mike Boudreaux announces the death of retired Deputy Roberto Villarreal Monday at Kaweah Health Medical Center. He was 57.

Deputy Villarreal was hired in 1994, beginning his law enforcement career in detentions where he worked at Main Jail and Road Camp. He graduated from the police academy in 1999 and was promoted to Deputy Sheriff I.

He worked the rest of his career at the Sheriff’s Office as a bailiff at the courthouses in Porterville, and Tulare/Pixley, serving the last 10 years as the bailiff for Judge Stephen Drew. 

He retired April 4, 2025.

Deputy Villarreal is survived by his siblings: Aracelia, Adriana, Alicia, Jose, Jr., Javier, and Rojelio. His sister Aracelia said that her brother was a handsome man, and he loved his family and the Sheriff’s Office very much. 

Funeral arrangements are pending.
