May 23, 2025 – Fresno Police Department officials report that on May 21, 2025, at 2:10 p.m., officers from the Southwest Policing District responded to CRMC regarding two stabbing victims. Victim #1 was listed in stable condition, and Victim #2 was rushed into emergency lifesaving surgery and is listed in critical but stable condition.
During the investigation, officers located the crime scene in the area of Hammond Avenue and Mariposa Street. The disturbance began with the victims meeting the suspects, known to each other, to buy marijuana, when Suspect Julian Carrillo approached one of the victims and stabbed him. The victim fell to the ground, where suspect Carrillo’s mother, suspect Rosa Romero, held his arms down, preventing him from getting up. Suspect Carrillo proceeded to stab the victim several more times. Suspect Aaron Robles then reached into the victim’s pockets, and took his car keys and cellphone. Suspect Carrillo walked downstairs, approached the second victim who had stayed in the car, and stabbed him in the chest. Victim #1 was able to locate his car keys and drive himself, Victim #2, and the witness to the hospital.
Night Detectives identified all three suspects and authored a search warrant for the residence where detectives located blood splatter inside, a knife with possible blood stains, additional blood-stained evidence, and exterior surveillance cameras. Additionally, detectives could smell a strong odor of cleaning supplies throughout the apartment, with a fan that was drying the kitchen and living room floors.
All three suspects were arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail.
Suspect Julian Carrillo: PC 664/187 – Attempt murder, PC 211 – Robbery, PC 245(a)(1) – Assault with a deadly weapon, PC 236 – False imprisonment, and PC 12022.7(a) – Inflict GBI in commission of felony.
Suspect Aaron Robles: PC 211 – Robbery, PC 245(a)(1) – Assault with a deadly weapon, PC 236 – False imprisonment, and PC 3056 - Parole violation, and is on active CDC Parole for PC 245(a)(2)
Suspect Rosa Romero: PC 211 – Robbery, PC 245(a)(1) – Assault with a deadly weapon, PC 236 – False imprisonment
