May 23, 2025 – El Dorado County Sheriff's Office officials report that in April 2025 Detectives investigated a report of child molestation that led to the arrest of 65-year-old Dan Herrera of South Lake Tahoe. He is currently facing charges of Continual Sexual Abuse of a Child (288.5 PC).

It is not uncommon during follow-up investigations into child molestation that Detectives discover past victims of the charged individual. These prior incidents can become part of a current case even if they are years, or even decades old.
