Robbery Arrest
May 26, 2025 – Kern County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Thursday May 15, 2025, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Kern County Sheriff’s Deputies from the Frazier Park and Tejon Substation were dispatched to the Speedway convenience store, located in the 100 block of Frazier Mountain Park Road, regarding a robbery in progress. The suspect was reported to be armed with a rifle.
The suspect vehicle was identified, and this information was provided to Allied Agencies. Officers from the California Highway Patrol – Santa Clarita Office located the suspect vehicle traveling on Interstate 5 near McBean Parkway, in Los Angeles County. A pursuit ensued, eventually terminating with the California Highway Patrol – West Los Angeles Office, who took the suspect into custody.
The suspect was identified as 38-year-old Esteban Lara of Delano, California. Lara was booked into the Los Angeles Police Department Pacific Jail on felony charges of P.C 212.5(c) – Second degree robbery, a weapon charge, and evading.
