June 8, 2025 – Modesto Police Department officials report that on June 4, 2025, at approximately 9:10 p.m., patrol officers responded to a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision near the intersection of McHenry Avenue and Fairmont Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located an adult female pedestrian lying in the roadway. She was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle involved, a 2014 Kia Optima, remained at the scene and immediately called 911. A preliminary investigation revealed the vehicle was traveling northbound on McHenry Avenue in the number one lane when the collision occurred.

The driver was cooperative throughout the investigation and showed no signs of impairment.

Sadly, on June 6, 2025, our Traffic Safety Unit was notified that the pedestrian succumbed to her injuries.
