June 8, 2025 – Merced County Sheriff's Office officials report that on June 6, 2025, at 10:42 p.m., our deputies responded to the 9000 block of Hillside Drive in Delhi for a report of loud music. While there, partygoers informed them about an incident that occurred earlier in the evening involving a subject identified as 29-year-old Erik Lopez. Lopez became upset at the party and produced a firearm, which he displayed to several people before leaving the residence.
At 11:45 p.m., Deputies Granado and Aguilar observed a vehicle associated with Lopez driving in the area of the house party. Deputies conducted a vehicle stop and ultimately searched the car and located a handgun with no serial number or unique markings (ghost gun).
Lopez was arrested on several gun-related charges, including brandishing a firearm. Good job, Deputy Granado and Deputy Aguilar!
