June 8, 2025 – CAL FIRE officials announce that they are proud to share that CAL FIRE has been named the 2025 Veterans Employer of the Year in the Government/Public Sector by the California Employer Advisory Council (CEAC)! This marks the fourth time we've received this honor (2017, 2022, 2024, and now 2025)—a reflection of our unwavering commitment to U.S. Veterans, Service Members, and their families.

Through initiatives like our Returning Veterans: Enlisting Their Skills for CAL FIRE Service (R.V.E.T.S.) program, launched in 2011, we’ve worked to create pathways for Veterans to thrive within CAL FIRE—offering meaningful careers, training, and support.
