June 10, 2025 – Fresno County Sheriff’s Office officials report that Homicide detectives with the Sheriff’s Office have received new information about the 2020 murder of Rosendo Herrera in San Joaquin. This has caused detectives to shift their focus back to the case. They are now asking for the public’s help to get involved and help them find the person who killed Herrera.

Shortly after midnight on October 8, 2020, Fresno County Sheriff’s Office dispatchers received a call from a homeowner who stated there was an injured man in front of their house located on the 9000 block of Donna Street in San Joaquin. Deputies arrived and found the man, later identified as Rosendo Herrera, to be suffering from gunshot wounds. Deputies provided first aid until EMS personnel arrived and took over medical attention. Herrera died a short time later.
