Homicide Investigation and Arrest
June 21, 2025 – Fresno Police Department officials report that on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 10:58 p.m., Southeast Policing District officers responded to a location near Floradora Avenue and Winery Avenue regarding a shooting victim. Officers arrived and found 43-year-old Sevastion Prado, who was unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper chest. Officers and EMS personnel provided first aid, and Prado was transported to Community Regional Medical Center for medical treatment. Prado was unable to survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased by medical personnel at 11:34 p.m.
Officers interviewed witnesses on scene who identified 46-year-old Michael Anthony Jacintho as the person responsible for the shooting. Officers learned Jacintho arrived at the location where he confronted Prado. During the confrontation, Jacintho shot Prado once in the upper chest. After the shooting, Jacintho fled the scene, where officers were able to locate and take him into custody during a traffic stop near the intersection of First Street and Clinton Avenue.
Jacintho was booked into the Fresno County Jail for multiple offenses, including Murder, and a Parole Violation.
Although an arrest has been made in this case, detectives are asking anyone with information to please contact the Fresno Police Department.
