Fatal Hit-and-Run Investigation 

June 23, 2025 – Modesto Police Department officials report that on June 22, 2025, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Modesto Police Department officers responded to a report of a pedestrian down in the roadway near Yosemite Boulevard and Severin Avenue. When officers arrived, they located the pedestrian, who was unresponsive. CPR was initiated, and the victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

A preliminary investigation determined that the pedestrian was crossing the road when she was struck by a Toyota traveling westbound on Yosemite Boulevard.

The driver of the Toyota, identified as 27-year-old Eloy Diaz of Modesto, was located shortly after the collision. He is being charged with felony hit-and-run and DUI.
