Update Per Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office: Mariposa County Sheriff Reports Missing Person Case Turns into Fugitive on the Run Investigation
At-Risk Missing Person
June 30, 2025 – Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office officials report that Nathan Baptista (38) was last seen on Friday, June 27th, 2025, when he left to ride his dirt bike, possibly in the Midpines area. Nathan informed family members he was going to ride “near a mine and a tower,” but no additional location details were provided.
He is believed to be driving a white Chevrolet S10 pickup truck, California license plate CA7B48533, and/or riding a white and blue dirt bike (unknown registration).
Nathan has not returned or been in contact with family and is considered missing and at risk.
Currently CHP helicopter H40 and the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office Off Highway Vehicle Unit are actively searching the area. Cell phone activity is also being monitored.
