U.S. Sailor Killed During Parachuting Accident Near Porterville Airport 

July 2, 2025 – Tulare County Sheriff’s Office officials announce a fallen Sailor has died during a parachuting accident.

Please join Sheriff Boudreaux in sending sincerest condolences to the family of a fallen Sailor who died during a parachuting accident on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 10:25 A.M. just South of the Porterville Airport on Teapot Dome.

The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office participated in a procession for the fallen soldier this afternoon, along with members of other local law enforcement agencies.

All of us at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office send our prayers to the friends and family of the fallen Sailor.
