July 4, 2025 – Fresno County Sheriff's Office officials report that the Fresno County Sheriff’s School Resource Deputy assigned to FCSO teacher MunguiaRiverdale High School has arrested 31-year-old Martin Munguia of Lemoore.  He was booked into the Fresno County Jail on a charge of arranging to meet with a minor for sexual purposes.  Munguia had his bail set at $30,000 and has since posted bond, allowing him to be released from custody.

On Wednesday, July 2, an investigation began into possible illegal behavior by Martin Munguia.  He serves as the Riverdale High School Co-Ed Track and Field coach, as well as a computer technician for the Riverdale Joint Union School District.  The deputy was alerted to inappropriate, sexual in nature, digital messages between Munguia and a teenage student.  Based on the evidence collected, the deputy arrested Munguia.

The school district is fully cooperating with the investigation and has placed Munguia on paid administrative leave.

Due to Munguia’s position, investigators are concerned he may have had inappropriate contact with other children due to his access to them.
