July 8, 2025 – Mariposa County Library officials announce opening reception to meet the artist of the "Living in the Plastic Age" models, to be held tonight, Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

Join us this Tuesday, July 8 for the opening reception of "Living in the Plastic Age." The reception will take place at the Mariposa Library from 5:30 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., featuring light refreshments and a few words from the artist.

This display includes fifteen scale models assembled and hand-painted by local modeler Blake Wilson. During your next library visit, be sure to enter the prize drawing to win one of Blake's models, featuring a pivotal scene from War of the Worlds, and a paperback copy of the classic sci-fi novel by H.G. Wells.
