July 11, 2025 – Amador County Sheriff's Office officials report that on July 8, at about 5:00 A.M., the fire department responded to a report of a car fire, in a driveway, on the 3500 block of Camanche Parkway North. Upon arrival, the fire department requested assistance from the Sheriff's Office, after observing indications that the fire was set intentionally. Deputies responded and their investigation unraveled a turbulent episode of fiery family drama.
Witnesses reported that a 51-year-old Galt man had arrived at the residence, angry at his adult son, who he believed owed him money. The man reportedly expressed this opinion by jumping on the roof of his son's car, throwing rocks through the windows, lighting it on fire, and then brandishing a pistol at the occupants of the residence, before angrily leaving the scene in his minivan.
While conducting this investigation, the man's 29-year-old son, also of Galt, who was on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) and had a felony no-bail warrant for his arrest, was determined to be hiding inside the residence. Junior snuck out of the back of the residence and jumped over the back fence, landing directly in front of a waiting deputy, where he was promptly arrested.
Senior is still at large and when you see this, please call in to give your side of the story!
