Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest, Seizure of Firearms and Narcotics
July 24, 2025 – Kern County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on July 22, 2025, deputies assigned to the Kern Valley Substation conducted a traffic stop in the 15000 block of Highway 178 for a vehicle displaying expired registration.
During the course of the investigation, deputies located a loaded firearm and suspected methamphetamine inside the vehicle. The driver, identified as 60-year-old Bryan Clements of South Lake, was determined to be a prohibited person in possession of a firearm. Clements was taken into custody at the scene.
Following the arrest, deputies executed a search warrant at Clements’ residence in South Lake. During the search, deputies located an additional firearm, body armor, and ammunition.
Bryan Clements was transported and booked into the Lerdo Justice Facility on multiple charges related to narcotics and weapons violations.
