July 24, 2025 – Modesto Police Department officials report that on Wednesday, June 25, just before 6:00 p.m., Stanislaus
Regional 911 received multiple reports of gunfire near Pelandale Avenue and Honey Creek Road in northwest Modesto. Patrol officers quickly responded and located evidence confirming a shooting had occurred, though no victims were found at the scene.
The Street Gang Unit was assigned to the case and worked tirelessly over the past several weeks, collecting evidence and following every possible lead. Through their investigation, they were able to identify six suspects, all juveniles under the age of 18.
On Tuesday, July 22, the Modesto Police Department SWAT Team—assisted by the Stanislaus County SWAT Team and the Stanislaus County Probation Department—served multiple search warrants in Modesto and Empire. All six suspects were taken into custody without incident. They were booked into Stanislaus County Juvenile Hall on multiple charges, including conspiracy and attempted murder. A firearm and ammunition were also recovered.
Sgt. Mike Harman, supervisor of the Street Gang Unit, stated: “Gang violence in our community will not be tolerated. The Street Gang Unit remains dedicated to disrupting and dismantling criminal street gangs in our city by actively locating, identifying, and investigating gang members to help keep our youth and community safe.”
