Farmersville Man Arrested for Shooting at Teens Near Linnell Camp
July 25, 2025 – Tulare County Sheriff's Office officials report that the Sheriff’s TAGNET Unit (Tulare Area Gangs and Narcotics Enforcement Team) tracked down and arrested 25-year-old Jose Antonio Hernandez of Farmersville Wednesday afternoon for the attempted murder of a 15-year-old boy and 17-year-old girl, May 25 on the 400 block of East Court Street in Linnell Camp, east of Visalia.
The teens were targeted by Hernandez while they were traveling inside of a vehicle on their way back from church. Multiple rounds were fired at their vehicle, striking it several times. Fortunately, the juveniles were not physically injured, although the gunfire came dangerously close to hitting them with one of the rounds hitting the girl’s headrest.
Hernandez is a documented member of the Norteño criminal street gang and was wanted in connection with the shooting. The victims are not gang members.
He was taken into custody without incident. Hernandez was transported and booked into the Tulare County Pretrial Facility, where he is currently being held on charges of attempted murder with a gang enhancement.
