Suspect Uses Knife to Stab Victim, Glencoe, CA

July 29, 2025 – Calaveras County Sheriff's Office officials report that on July 18, 2025, at about 7:35 P.M., the Calaveras Calaveras County Sheriff logoCounty Dispatch Center received a 911 call from a person reporting that an adult male had been stabbed multiple times at the American Legion Hall located on Upper Dorray Road in Glencoe. Law enforcement and emergency medical services personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, deputies learned that the suspect had been detained by a California Highway Patrol officer shortly before their arrival, and the victim was receiving medical assistance from bystanders. Once the emergency medical personnel arrived, they began administering emergency medical care and transporting the victim to a trauma center. Due to the severity of the incident, detectives were dispatched to assist with the investigation.

Patrol deputies secured the scene to preserve evidence, initiated an investigation, and subsequently identified Logan Christian Connolly, 21 years old, of Mokelumne Hill, as the sole suspect. Witnesses stated that the suspect and victim were assisting with food service during a community event at the Hall when suspect Connolly, unprovoked, used a kitchen knife to stab the victim multiple times in the upper torso area.

The suspect was transported to the Calaveras County Jail without incident, where he was booked for attempted murder and mayhem.

Detectives will conduct follow-up efforts over the coming weeks, including interviews and the evaluation of evidence. This is an ongoing investigation; no additional information is available at this time.
